Officers are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl was indecently assaulted in Loughborough.

The incident happened at around 3.55pm on Sunday April 19, 2009 as the victim and a friend were walking along Nottingham Road away from the town centre. As they neared the junction with Cotes Yard they became aware of a man behind them.

The man made an inappropriate comment to the girl before he touched her bottom. She pushed the man away and the girls ran off.

The man has been described as black, aged in his late twenties to early thirties, around 5'11" tall and of slim build. He was wearing a blue long sleeved shirt and a black beanie hat.

PC Sanjeet Bilan, who is investigating this incident, said: "This incident was obviously very distressing for the victim and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

"if you know the identity of this man or witnessed this incident, please get in touch."
