Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault on Narborough Road.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Monday April 13, when a 26-year-old man was walking along the road, near Equity Road, with his 13-year-old nephew.

He was approached by a man who then hit him in the face with a brick.

An altercation followed between the two men at a premises near to the junction of Paton Street and onto the street itself.

The victim received injuries to his face and attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on bail pending further enquiries.

PC Lucy Batchelor, the officer investigating the incident, said: The victim and his nephew have been left upset and shocked by this incident and we would like anyone who has any information on what happened to contact us.
