Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault on Narborough Road.                                

The incident happened at around 6pm on Monday April 13, when a 26-year-old man was walking along the road, near Equity Road, with his 13-year-old nephew.

He was approached by a man who then hit him in the face with a brick.

An altercation followed between the two men at a premises near to the junction of Paton Street and onto the street itself.

The victim received injuries to his face and attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on bail pending further enquiries.

PC Lucy Batchelor, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The victim and his nephew have been left upset and shocked by this incident and we would like anyone who has any information on what happened to contact us.

“If you was in the Narborough Road area at the time of the incident and seen the events leading up to it and after then we would like to hear from you. Any information you have, no matter how small, could help us with our investigation.”
