Police are appealing for witnesses after a bicycle was stolen from outside a building in Oakham.

The incident happened at around 7.45pm on Monday April 27, when the victim, an 11-year-old boy, had left his bicycle outside a premises on South Street.

Upon retuning to this bicycle only a few minutes later he found it had been taken.

The bike stolen was described as a Backlash Flight, BMX type bike.  It has 2 stunt pegs on each wheel and is creamy white in colour.

Two youths were seen in the area at the time of the incident.

Both youths are described as white, aged about 14 to 15-years-old, around 5’10” tall and of a slim build.

One of the youths was wearing a black hooded top with a flash of red on the front. He was also wearing dark jeans and white trainers, with thin red stripes.

The second male was wearing a blue top with stripes on. He was riding a black bicycle similar to the one taken.

PC Pete Starbuck, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We are appealing to the public for their help in retrieving the bicycle and finding who has taken it.

“We are keen to speak with the two youths seen in the area at the time of the incident. If you recognise those described then we would like to speak with you.

“Any information you have on the incident or the whereabouts of the bicycle then we would like you to call us.”
