Burglary on Eastfield Road
Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary at a house on Eastfield Road, Leicester.
The incident happened between 5.30am and 4.50pm on Saturday May 2, when the 56-year-old victim returned home to find a wooden panel from a back door had been broken in and taken away from the door.
Upon entering the property the victim found that her black and pink Nokia 5310 mobile phone had been taken, along with costume jewellery and an 18 carrot gold engagement ring, with a diamond solitaire mounted on top of a platinum shoulder.
PC Lisa Dodds, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The engagement ring has huge sentimental value to victim as it was a gift from her late husband and so we would like to appeal to the public to help us locate the stolen property.
“If you was in the area between the times shown and can remember seeing someone acting suspiciously, then we would like you to call us with any information you have.
“We would also like people, in particular jewellers, to be aware of those items stolen and contact us if you are approached by anyone trying to sell you the items.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 4474 Lisa Dodds on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4474. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
