Charity t-shirt sales in Loughborough raises money to plant hundreds of trees

Shoppers in Loughborough can help raise money to plant scores of trees by buying charity t-shirts at the citys Dorothy Perkins store.
Money from t-shirt sales is donated to the UKs leading woodland conservation charity, the Woodland Trust.
Sales of the previous charity clothing range from the Loughborough store in 2007 and 2008 raised about 2,000 for the charity and enabled 386 trees to be planted.
From May 10, for every t-shirt sold, 5 will be donated to the charity to enable hundreds of trees to be planted in some of its 1,000 UK woods. The four charity t-shirts at Dorothy Perkins retail at 18. They are made from 100% organic cotton having been grown without the use of pesticides or genetically modified seeds and ripened by the sun in a natural environment.
Leicestershire contains 17 Woodland Trust woods, including Felicitys Wood, in Woodhouse Eaves.
Nikola Smith, from the Woodland Trust, said: Thank you so much to all shoppers in Loughborough for supporting the Woodland Trust by buying items from the Dorothy Perkins charity range.
The money raised from the last two years ranges have helped raise awareness of our work, and help plant more trees in the UK. Our work is vital and so please show your support for the Woodland Trust and head to your nearest Dorothy Perkins store to choose one of the fabulous Woodland Trust t-shirts.
The UK is one of the least wooded countries in Europe with 12% woodland cover compared to 44% on the continent.
