Police officers are appealing for witnesses following an arson attack on a car in Ratby.

The incident occurred at around 3.15am on Friday April 17, 2009 when a black Ford Ka parked in the Nicholas Drive area was set alight.

The fire service attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which had damaged the vehicle beyond repair.

Officers believe the fire has been caused deliberately and are appealing for information.

PC Ken Fricker, who is investigating this incident, said: "The owner has been greatly inconvenienced and upset by this thoughtless act.

“A witness recalls seeing two men wearing dark clothing in the area at this time in the area who have been responsible for this attack.

 “We would like to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information as to who is responsible for this to contact us. If you saw anyone acting suspicious in the area around the time of the incident, please get in touch.”
