Fatal road traffic collision on Hastings Road
Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision.
The collision happened at around 10.35pm on Thursday May 7, when a single vehicle, a black Vauxhall Vectra, collided with a steel fence on Hastings Road.
One of the three occupants of the vehicle, 33-year-old Victors Costanti, also known as Andros from the Belgrave area of Leicester, received fatal injuries.
The two other occupants were both taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for minor injuries.
Two men, aged 25 and 38-years-old have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable Darren Symes-Goodman, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The car was travelling along Hastings Road when the collision happened and we would like anyone who was in the area and can remember seeing this vehicle to contact us.
“We believe that there was a small vehicle at the junction with Smedmore Road that at the time of the collision and we would like to appeal to the occupants of this vehicle to contact us and give us any information they may have.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 515 Darren Symes-Goodman on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 0515.
