Loughborough MP Andy Reed today met representatives of AstraZeneca management to discuss issues surrounding the pharmaceutical sector.
AstraZeneca in Loughborough is one of the towns' biggest employers.
Andy said
"As one of our largest employers it is important to look at the long term conditions of the company by talking to their Senior management and what UK government can do to support such large companies.
Their own figures estimate they support 2,300 local jobs and Gross Value Added is over 500m. I will also be visiting the local site again in a few weeks time as part of my regular contact with major employees."
