Officers in Ashby are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary at a property on Tamworth Road.

The incident happened during the day, between 11.45am and 4.30pm on Thursday May 14, when the owner of the property returned to find that a room to the back of the house had been searched and left untidy.

Upon further investigation she found that a number of rooms in the house had been searched and items had been stolen.

Items taken include a grey Toshiba laptop, a Canon E05 digital camera and a charity box containing money.

It is believed that the suspects gained entry through a door at the back of the property.

PC Paul Anderson, the officer investigating the incident, said: The victim has been left shocked and upset that someone was in her home and so we are appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward.

This incident happened in the day possibly making any sightings of the incident clearer. If you was in the area at the time of the burglary and can remember seeing anyone acting suspiciously then we would like you to call us.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 1921 Paul Anderson on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1921.
