Police investigating an attempted murder and GBH have arrested six people in connection with the incident.

The assault happened at around 2.30am on Saturday May 16 on St Austell Road in Thurnby Lodge.

Two men, both aged 56 were seriously assaulted. One sustained a broken leg while the second man is still in a critical condition at Nottingham Queens Medical Centre with head injuries.

Two men aged 23 and another two aged 24 and 29 were arrested yesterday and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries. Another man aged 31 and a 15-year-old boy were arrested this morning and remain in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Nicole Main who is investigating the incident said: “This is a very serious assault which has left one of the victims in an extremely serious condition in hospital.

“We know that these men were assaulted by a group of people and we also know that there are possibly witnesses who we haven’t yet spoken to.

“The victims were at a party taking place at flats on St Austell Road prior to the attack and there’s a possibility people at this party either witnessed the incident or events leading up to it.

“If you were at this party or know anything about this incident or the people involved then I would encourage you to get in touch.”
