Officers are appealing for information after a gate was stolen in Ibstock.

The incident happened between 6pm on Monday May 18 and 7.30am on Tuesday May 19, 2009 when the gate was stolen from the entrance to a driveway on Pretoria Road in Ibstock.

The gate was a handmade 14ft barred gate in oak. It is worth between £600 to £1,000 in value.

PC Paul Anderson, who is investigating this incident, said: “We would appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Pretoria Road area between these times to get in touch.

"This gate is obviously very heavy and been difficult to transport due to its size and would have need more than one person to move it. Do you recall seeing anyone loading up a vehicle matching this? If so, please contact us.

"If you have any information regarding this theft or who the people who are responsible, please get in touch with us."
