Spate of grafitti tagging in the Beaumont Leys area
Do you know who is responsible for this tag?
Witnesses are being sought following a spate of grafitti tagging in the Beaumont Leys area.
During the early hours of Sunday May 17 2009, several graffiti 'tags' have been painted in various roads including Anthony Road, Jean Drive, Avebury Avenue, Amersham Road, Anstey Lane and Buckminster Road.
The property damaged includes vans, window shutters, post boxes and electrical boxes.
The 'tags' have been painted with black and silver paints and have been sprayed with the display the words ‘Seek', ‘Beeki' and ‘Merky'.
Officers have released photos of the tags in the hope that someone will be able to identify the people responsible from these.
PCSO Rob Spence, from the Beaumont Leys local policing unit, said: “Those responsible have caused great distress and inconvenience to the owners of these properties.
"Vandalism can have a negative impact on the surrounding community and we hope that someone will be able to identify who these tags belong to and get in touch with any information they have.
"We take this type of crime very seriously and would ask anyone who may have witnessed these incidents, or know who is responsible for the tags, to please come forward and speak to us."
Anyone with any information is asked to please contact PCSO 6169 Rob Spence on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 6169.
