Elections Are Fast Approaching

This year the European Parliamentary Election is being held at the same time as the County Council Election on Thursday 4th June. Polling stations open at 7.00am on the day and close at 10.00pm. These are being held to elect 5 European Members of Parliament to represent the East Midlands area and 55 County Councillors for Leicestershire, 14 of which represent Electoral Divisions in the Charnwood area.
The election count for the Charnwood area commences at 10.00am on Friday 5th June at the Loughborough Leisure Centre and the first results for the County Council seats are expected an hour or so later with the conclusion of all County results by 1.00pm.
Charnwood Borough Council, who will be organising the election and the Count, are for the first time using machines to count the County Council ballot papers.
