Three Counties Alliance Partnership wins national award

The Three Counties Alliance Partnership (3CAP) between Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire County Councils and Scott Wilson, has received a national commendation in recognition of its achievements as a public private partnership.

The 3CAP was set up in 2007 after the engineering teams at each local authority saw mutual benefits of working together.

Along with engineering consultant, Scott Wilson, the joint partnership has resulted in money saving and a better service for local communities.

Mark Stevens, Assistant Director of Highways at Leicestershire County Council said: “This is the first partnership of its kind in the UK and to be awarded with the Municipal Journal’s commendation is something that not only the partnership can be proud of but also the communities in which we work.”

To date more than 80 commissioned projects, ranging from traditional highways services to projects looking at the impact of climate change, have been successfully delivered.

It has been identified that nearly £700,000* has been saved as a result of this collaborative working arrangement.
