Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a theft from a children’s nursery garden on Corporation Road.

The incident happened overnight between 11am on Sunday May 3 and 9.30am on Monday May 4, when it was discovered that a climbing frame at Milkyway Nursery had been stolen.

The climbing frame is described as having a hard plastic, multi-coloured frame with a slide. On either side of the frame there is a plastic tree with red apples on it. It is around 4’7” in height and 4’2” in width.

PCSO Mark Williamson, one of the officers investigating the incident, said: “The children at the nursery are quite upset that their climbing frame has been taken and we would appeal to anyone who knows its current whereabouts to please get in touch.

“As the frame is so distinctive we are hopeful that the public will spot it and help us get it back to the nursery. If you know someone who has acquired a climbing frame similar to the one described, in suspicious circumstances, we would like you to call us.

“Due to the size of the frame it could be that a vehicle was used to take it away. If you was near the nursery on the Sunday evening and can remember seeing any vehicles or unusual activity then again, we would like you to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO 6515 Mark Williamson on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 6515. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
