Could you be a volunteer guide?

Community Services
A chance for people to get involved with a special temporary exhibition is on offer at Snibston in Coalville.
If you would like to become a volunteer guide for the exhibition, entitled Anne Frank +You, then now’s your chance.
It is being held at Snibston from June 4th- June 30th and aims to examine the experience of Anne Frank by putting it into the context of British life, particularly issues currently faced by young people.
The chance to be a volunteer guide coincides with national Volunteers Week, which runs from June 1st -7th each year, and celebrates the work of all volunteers within the community.
The exhibition contains a variety of information about Anne Frank’s life including pictures and facsimiles of objects and a scaled down version of her hidden room in Amsterdam.
Volunteers will act as guides around the exhibition encouraging people to view it with regard to modern life and recent events such as bullying, exclusion, inequality, incidents of racism and recent massacres in Bosnia and Rwanda.
Anyone who volunteers will hopefully be able to offer at least one slot lasting four hours for the duration of the exhibition. In turn, all volunteers are offered training about their role and are offered reimbursement of their travelling expenses.
Snibston expects the exhibition to attract all types of people, especially young people from local schools and colleges for whom drama workshops will be available in the Century Theatre.
