Don't forget to use your vote

Leicestershire residents are being urged to make sure they use their vote on 4th June.

Next week's election is a chance for people to vote for the person who will be their County Councillor for the next four years.

A County Councillor represents everyone in their electoral division, including those who did not vote for them, and contributes to discussions about all things which affect life in Leicestershire.

County Councillors take up issues, problems and concerns raised with them and help people make their own voices heard.

On 4th June, residents will also be able to vote for members of the European Parliament who will represent the East Midlands.

The results of the County Council election will be shown on the authority's website: www.leics.gov.uk as they are declared around lunchtime on 5th June. The European election results will be available on the evening of Sunday, 7th June and can be seen on Leicester City Council’s website: www.leicester.gov.uk
