Leicestershire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit officers are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in Thringstone. 

The incident happened at about 2.30pm on Friday May 29, 2009 on the A512 Ashby Road approximately 400 metres west of the junction with Loughborough Road and involved a black Yamaha FZR EXUP motorcycle.

The rider, Mr David Munroe (41) of Nottingham received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Constable Rob Lapworth, who is investigating the collision, said: "Mr Munroe was riding with a friend who was on a similar bike but was not involved in the collision.

“We would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please contact us. If you saw the bike in the area at this time on Friday afternoon please get in touch."
