Cash in transit robbery on Aikman Avenue

Cash in transit robbery on Aikman Avenue
Police are appealing for witnesses following a cash in transit robbery on Aikman Avenue.
The incident happened at around 8.55am on Wednesday May 27, when a security guard, who was making a delivery at a business premises, was approached by two men in ski masks.
One of the men hit the guard and both men then made off with a black cash box.
It is believed that they made their escape in a silver or grey car.
The victim did not receive any injuries as a result of the robbery.
The man who hit the guard is described as white, in his twenties to thirties, about 5’10” tall and of a medium build. He was wearing a dark ski mask that was completely covered his face.
The second man is described as around 5’8” tall and of an athletic build. He was wearing all black clothing with a hood pulled over his head and a mask and scarf covering his face.
Detective Constable Chris Stewart, the officer investigating the incident, said: “At this time of the day many people would have been travelling to work or to school. We are appealing to these people in the hope that they may have some vital information that could help us with our investigation.
“Can you remember seeing the incident happen? Did you see two men matching the description after the robbery? Did you see where they went to or have details of the vehicle they left in?
“Any information you have, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem, we would like you to call us.”
