Police appeal following indecent exposure in Melton
Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a man indecently exposing himself in Melton.
The incident happened at around 11.45am on Sunday May 21, when the 42-year-old victim and her 8-year-old son were fishing at the watercourse between Baldocks Lane and Mill Street.
The woman noticed a man walking up and down the path on other side of the water, near to Baldocks Lane, who then indecently exposed himself. The man was walking along this stretch of water for around 10 minutes beforehand.
The man then left the watercourse.
The man is described as white, around 6ft tall, of a thin build and with light ginger or blonde hair. He had a very pale complexion, was wearing a pair of round glasses and a pair of tight knee length beige shorts.
PC James Hirst, the officer investigating the incident said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Mill Street and Baldocks Lane at this time and who may have seen this man.
“Did you see where the man went after the incident? Do you know the man responsible? Do you recognise the man described? Any information you have, no matter how insignificant is may seem, we want to hear it.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 2201 James Hirst on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2201. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
