25 motorcycles stolen from premises in Loughborough
Officers in Loughborough are appealing for witnesses after the theft of 25 motorcycles from a premises on Prince William Way.
The incident happened overnight between 9.45pm on Tuesday May 19 and around 8.30am on Wednesday May 20, when the owner of Redline motorcycles shop was informed that there had been a break in.
Upon investigation the owner found that the fire exit door had been removed and 25 of his motorcycles had been taken along with a number of other items.
It is believed that the suspects removed the bikes from the shop and took them through a hole in the fence that leads to Waldron Court, where they were then loaded onto a vehicle.
Three men were seen in the area at the time of the incident wearing white tracksuits and police believe that they were involved in the burglary.
The total value of the items stolen from the shop is said to be around £97,700.
24 of the motorcycles taken are KMT and are black and orange in colour. One of the motorcycles is a Kawasaki and is green in colour.
PC Mark Ward, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The value of the property taken totals to a very large amount and has left the owner of Redhill Motorcycles very upset.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and can remember seeing anyone matching those described. The clothes they were wearing look very similar to white overalls and are quite distinctive so we are hoping that anyone who did see them will remember.
“We would also like people who deal with motorcycles to be aware of the bikes described. If you are approached by anyone attempting to sell one of the motorcycles or if you know someone who has recently acquired one in suspicious circumstances then we want to hear from you.
“Any information you have could help us with our investigation and so we urge you to contact us.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1828 Mark Ward on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1828. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
