Police are appealing for witnesses after a car left a petrol station, in Lutterworth, without paying.

The incident happened at around 9.15pm on Tuesday June 2, when a passenger was seen to leave a car and fill it up with petrol at the Texaco petrol station on Market Street. He then got back into the car and the driver drove off without paying.

Officers believe the vehicle, a blue Toyota, Corolla has had its number plates changed.

Detective Constable Matthew Swift, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We are appealing to anyone who was at the petrol station or who may have been in the Market Street area to contact us.

“Can you remember seeing those in the vehicle? Do you know who they are? Did you see where the vehicle went to after the incident? Any information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, we want to hear it.”
