Further appeal following road traffic collision
Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are re-appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision two weeks after the incident.
The incident happened at around 11.05pm on Friday May 29, 2009 on London Road near to the junction with Waterloo Way and involved a purple BMW 3 series and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man in his twenties, received serious head injuries and is currently at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where his condition is described as serious.
The driver of the BMW was not injured.
Detective Constable Gary Mundy, who is investigating the incident, said: “We know there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident who have not yet come forward and spoken to us. We would urge them to contact us so we can try and piece together what happened during the incident.
“We would also like to speak to people who either saw the BMW, which was travelling county bound, or the pedestrian prior to the collision."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 1464 Gary Mundy on 0116 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1464. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
