Fun by bus this summer

The 2009 edition of Leicestershire Attractions …by Bus guide will be hitting the streets from Monday, 22nd June.

This year’s 56-page guide is packed with information about exciting places to visit and things to do around the county this summer - and how to get there by bus.

Leicestershire County Council’s ‘Fun by Bus’ staff will be out and about across the county in the run up to the summer holidays, starting on Friday, 26th June at Fosse Park Food Court, where they will be handing out guides and giving away kids’ activities and a range of free goodies for children.

Ian Drummond, Assistant Director of Transport at Leicestershire County Council, said: “We have made kids a big focus of our attention in this year’s ‘Attractions….by Bus’ guide.

“There are plenty of competitions and prizes to be won and an on-line ‘kids corner’ crammed full of fun activities, where we will also be displaying the ‘winners’ gallery.

“This guide gives up-to-date bus service information on how to get to all the local attractions such as Twinlakes, Twycross Zoo and Snibston Discovery Park by public transport.

“Travelling by bus is a fun way to travel – the kids enjoy it, it saves the hassle of trying to find a parking space and, importantly, it is environmentally friendly.”

Leicester Sound is also on board with the guide and residents are urged to listen out for an ‘Attractions …by Bus’ competition between 13th and 24th July.
