Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft of a bicycle from outside a property on Fosse Road south near to the junction with Winchester Avenue.

The incident happened between 8pm and 11pm on Thursday May 28, when the 26-year-old victim found that the bicycle and the two locks to secure it had been stolen.

The bicycle is described as an old style French bicycle. It is a green Scwinnn, Cruiser SS with a bright orange bell.

PC Gemma Golding, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The bicycle means a lot to the victim and she is very eager to get it back.

“As the bicycle is quite distinctive we are hoping that anyone who sees one matching the description will contact us and help us return it to its owner.

“If you was in the area at the time of the incident and can remember seeing someone on a bike similar to the one described, then we want to speak with you. Any information you have about the bicycle or its whereabouts, we want to hear.”
