Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery on Ellis Park off Corporation Road in Leicester.

The incident happened at about 3.55pm on Friday June 5, 2009, when the 21-year-old victim was walking along a footpath, which runs from Corporation Road through the park, in the direction of Ross Walk.

She was grabbed from behind by a man who threatened her before stealing her handbag and running off across the park.

The handbag contained bank cards and a small quantity of cash.

The victim wasn’t injured.

The man is described as black, about 6’4” tall and with a clear complexion . He was wearing quite scruffy black tracksuit bottoms and a black short sleeve shirt.   

DC Lisa Kelly, who is investigating the incident, said: “The victim has been left upset and shaken as a result of the incident and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen what happened or has any information to contact me.

“If you were in the area at the time and remember seeing a man matching this description, then please get in touch.”
