Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit have named the woman who died in a road traffic collision in Glenfield.

The collision happened at around 6.05pm yesterday (Sunday June 14) at the mini roundabout on Station Road leading towards The Square and involved a white Renault Clio and silver Ford KA.

The passenger of the Ford KA, 18-year-old Charlotte Walsh of Leicester Forest East, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the KA received minor injuries and attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The driver and passenger from the Renault Clio also received minor injuries but were not treated.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

PC Patricia Draycott, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We would like anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to contact us.

“We would also like to appeal to anyone who saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident to contact us.”
