Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary at a property in Hinckley.

The incident happened between 6pm on Friday June 12 and 7.45 on Saturday June 13 at Keyline Builders Merchants on Brookfield Road.

It is believed that the suspects gained entry by removing a fencing panel that surrounded the property.

Taken in the burglary were a number of items including fence panels and sewage fittings, resulting in a substantial loss to the business.

PC Paul Bingham, the officer investigating the incident, said: “Replacing the items will cost a lot of money and we are hoping that by appealing to the public we will be able to locate the items and return them to their owners.

“If you was in the area between the times specified and can remember seeing someone acting suspiciously then we want to hear from you.

“We believe that it could be possible that a vehicle was used to remove the stolen items. So if you can remember seeing a vehicle in the area that you feel was suspicious we want you to contact us.

“Alternatively it may be that you work in the building industry and have been approached by someone trying to sell items similar to those described, if so then we want to hear from you.”
