Medical students at the University of Leicester are running an event on Saturday 20th June, as part of a Widening Participation initiative, aimed at school students who might be disadvantaged in their applications to become medical students at university.

The project is called SAMPLE medicine (Student Access into Medical careers through Peer Led Education) and it aims to cater for students who may struggle to gain medically related work experience and hence may be disadvantaged when applying to medical school.

The event is for AS/A2 level sixth form students across Leicestershire who come from a non-professional, comprehensive schooling background. The aim is to enable them to make an informed choice about studying medicine as well as give them a rich experience to discuss in their applications.
