Appeal to trace driver following collision on Southfields Drive
Officers are appealing for a driver to come forward after a road traffic collision.
The collision took place at about 9.45am on Tuesday June 16, 2009 on Southfields Drive.
An elderly woman in a mobility scooter was involved in a collision with a black 4 x4 type vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the collision and drove off towards Asquith Way.
The woman was not injured but the collision aggravated a pre-existing back injury. She did not receive medical treatment.
PC Trevor Spare, from the Force’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the moments leading up to the incident to please get touch.
"If you do know who this driver is, please get in touch with us or encourage them to make contact themselves.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 790 Trevor Spare on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 0790. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
