Officers are appealing for witnesses after an assault on Tudor Road in the city.

The incident happened sometime between 7.45pm and 8pm on Tuesday June 16, 2009 when the victim, a 33-year-old man, was assaulted by two other men following an altercation near to the junction with Bosworth Street.

A 31-year-old woman, who was with the victim, was also assaulted during the incident.

The men ran off towards the park on Tudor Road following the assault. The man assaulted received minor head injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment. The woman did not have medical treatment.

The first suspect is described as white, between 20 and 23-years-old, about 6ft tall and of skinny build with defined muscles. He had short dark blonde hair and was wearing a black t-shirt and white tracksuit bottoms.

The second suspect is described as white, around 30-years-old, about 6ft tall and of stocky build. He had a rounded face and blonde curly hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and brown jeans with a belt.

PC Anton Wilson, who is investigating this incident, said: I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of the people involved to please get in touch.

It is important we build a picture of exactly what happened and would urge anyone who has information whatsoever, no matter how small it may seem, to please contact the police urgently.
