Officers name man killed in Newton Lane road traffic collision
Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit have named the man killed in a fatal road traffic collision in the Parish of Wistow.
The incident happened at about 5.35pm on Friday June 19, 2009 on Newton Lane approximately 300 metres south of Glebe Farm.
The collision involved three vehicles, a white Mitsubishi FTO coupe, a silver Volkswagen Golf and blue Subaru Impreza.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, Mr Darius Dominguez (23) of Houghton on the Hill, Leicestershire, received serious injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he later died.
The driver of the Golf was airlifted to the Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry with serious injuries where his condition is currently described as stable.
Two passengers in the Golf were taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary with serious injuries where their conditions are described as stable.
The driver of the Subaru was not injured.
Detective Constable Robert Lapworth, who is investigating the incident, said: "The Mitsubishi and the Subaru were travelling towards Newton Harcourt and the Golf was travelling in the opposite direction at the time of the collision.
"We would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicles prior to the collision to please get in touch."
