Appeal following arson at a house in Leicester
Officers are appealing for witnesses following an incident of arson at a house in Leicester.
The incident happened between 9pm on Friday May 29 and 6am on Saturday May 30, 2009 when a fire was started deliberately at the front of a house on Wilberforce Road
A curtain which was drawn across the outside of the front door was set alight destroying the curtain and causing damage to the door frame.
The elderly resident, a man in his nineties, was asleep inside the property but was not injured.
PC Ann Williams, who is investigating this incident, said: “Fortunately the resident was not injured however he has been left very frightened and concerned by this incident.
"Since the fire, we have been speaking to local residents in the street in the hope they may have witnessed this incident and could provide some information.
"We're also still keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the surrounding area between these times who may recall seeing any suspicious activity, people running to or from the scene or any vehicles that seemed out of the ordinary.
"If you have any information regarding this incident or have any information as to who may be responsible, then I'd encourage you to get in touch."
