Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault outside a school on Grasmere Road in Loughborough.

The incident happened at about 3.10pm on Monday May 22, 2009 when the victim, a 14-year-old boy, was standing on Grasmere Road talking to a friend.

The boy was approached from behind by an older teenager who hit him on the hand with an unknown object before running off in the direction of Atherstone Road.

The suspect is described as white, about 5’6” tall and about 15-years-old. He was wearing a plain navy blue hooded tracksuit, with the hood up.

The boy received a cut to his hand as a result of the incident.

PC Glen Reid, who is investigating this incident, said: “Did you see a teenager matching this description running along Grasmere Road towards Atherstone Road? Did you see where they went next? If so we would like to hear from you.

“I would urge anybody who witnessed this incident or has any information about who may be responsible to contact me.”
