Police were called following a report of criminal damage to an address on Wards End in Loughborough.

The incident happened at about 2.25pm yesterday (Wednesday June 24, 2009) when petrol had been poured through a letterbox at the property.

Officers and the Fire Service attended the scene.

A fire hadn’t been started and nobody was injured.

An area outside the address was cordoned off to allow forensic examinations to take place.

PC Wayne Chapman, who is investigating the incident, said: “This incident took place in the middle of the afternoon on a busy road. A silver car was seen parked up outside the address before driving off. Did you see the car or witness this incident? If so, please contact me.”
