Car stolen during burglary in Scraptoft Lane

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at an address on Scraptoft Lane in Leicester.

The incident happened sometime between 12pm on Monday June 15, 2009 and 9.45am on Wednesday June 17, 2009 when thieves broke into the property through a back door.

Various items were stolen, including antiques, jewellery and a quantity of cash. A blue Volvo v70, registration number Y374 YJE, was also stolen.

The Volvo was later recovered from Foston Lane in Countesthorpe on Thursday June 18, 2009.

DC Denise Pritchard, who is investigating the incident, said: I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the Volvo in the Scraptoft Lane or Foston Lane areas between the above times to contact police.

If anyone has any information regarding the burglary or saw any suspicious activity in the area that could be linked to this incident please get in touch.
