Second man arrested following fatal road traffic collision
Officers investigating a road traffic collision killing a serving police officer have arrested a second man in connection with the incident.
PC Guy Swatland (49) who was riding a pedal cycle was involved in a collision with a silver Mercedes Sprinter at around 8.45am on Friday June 12, 2009, on the A6 in Great Glen. He was off duty at the time of the collision.
Guy was the beat officer for the Stoneygate and Knighton beat at Welford Road local policing unit.
Officers have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the incident and he has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A 43-year-old man arrested previously remains on police bail.
