Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Great Glen.

Officers were called to the incident at around 10pm on Friday June 26, 2009, in the area of Sence Crescent and High Street, Great Glen.

Two men sustained serious injuries in the attack.  Both were initially taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary.  One man was later discharged following treatment.  The second man has been transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre, where his condition is described as serious.

The area of Sence Crescent and High Street was cordoned off today whilst forensic examination of the scene took place.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being questioned by officers.

DS Mark Tuttle of Wigston Serious Crime Team, said: “We have already spoken to a number of witnesses.  However, we would still like to speak to anyone else who may have witnessed the attack or any incident leading up to it, or anyone who may have information which could assist us in our enquiries.”
