Robbery at store in Belgrave Road
Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a store on Belgrave Road.
The incident happened at about 11.15am on Thursday June 18, 2009 when two men entered the premises near to the junction with Kensington Street.
One of the men assaulted the store worker whilst the other made a search behind the counter.
They left the store with a quantity of phones cards, money and the victim’s wallet and mobile phone and headed towards Dorset Street.
He was not injured during the incident.
The robbers have been described as white, around 5’4” tall and of medium build. One was wearing a dark tracksuit and white trainers. He had short ginger hair and had a scarf pulled up over his face. The other was wearing a dark jacket, dark tracksuit bottoms and trainers. He was also had a scarf and a beanie style hat.
PC Austin Jackson, who is investigating the incident, said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have any information about this incident or remembers any suspicious activity in the area at the time to get in touch.
"Think back, where you in the Belgrave Road or Kensington Street area on this day? Did you see two men matching these descriptions or any suspicious vehicles in the area? If so then please contact police."
