Two men rob store on Osmaston Road
Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a store on Osmaston Rd.
The incident happened at around 2.50pm on Monday June 29, 2009 when two men entered the front entrance to the premises.
One of the men approached the cashier and threatened him with what is believed to be a knife before stealing a quantity of cash from the till.
During the incident the other man stood at the door as a look out and they made off on foot towards East Park Road.
The suspect who threatened the victim is described as being of Mediterranean appearance, around 5’7” tall and of slim build. He had a thin face and a small goatee style beard. He was wearing a light grey top with the hood up.
The man who stood at the door is described as white, aged between 17 and 19-years-old, of thin build and had a pointy nose. He was wearing a navy blue top with the hood up.
Detective Constable Paul Vincent, who is investigating the incident, said: "Although the cashier was not injured during the incident, they have been left extremely shocked by the robbery.
"We would like to appeal to anyone who saw two men matching this description in the area before the incident or perhaps saw the direction they took after they ran from the store.
"If you have any details about the people responsible, we would urge you to contact the police as soon as possible."
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact DC 2191 Paul Vincent on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2191. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
