Officers are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle was stolen at a motoring event.

The theft happened on Sunday June 28, 2009 when the victim left his blue Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle parked in the car park at Donington Park race circuit in Castle Donington at around 10am.

At around 2pm, he noticed his keys were missing from his bag and later discovered his bike had been stolen.

The bike has the registration DU04 BKN and has a double blue window screen. The victims helmet and gloves were also stolen.

PC Paul Anderson, who is investigating the incident, said: "There would have been a large amount of people at the park due to the motoring event and we would appeal to anyone who can recall any suspicious activity in relation to the theft or saw the bike being stolen to please get in contact with us.

"Do you know someone who has recently acquired a similar bike or have you been approached by someone selling a Suzuki GSXR 1000 matching this description? If you know the current whereabouts of this bike or have any information about the burglary, we'd urge you to get in touch."

Anyone with any information about the incident or the stolen motorbike is asked to contact PC 1921 Paul Anderson on (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1921. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
