Appeal following aggravated burglary in Leicester
Officers are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Leicester.
The incident took place at around 12.30pm on Friday July 3, 2009 at an address on Diseworth Street.
The occupant, a woman in her twenties, was entering her front door and was confronted by two men claiming to be from the gas board. The men forced their way in and threatened the victim with what is believed to be a knife and demanded property.
They made a search of the house and made off on foot with a small amount of cash and jewellery.
The first suspect is described as being of Asian appearance, around 28 to 30-years-old, between 5’8” and 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a blue shirt, jeans and a black leather jacket. He was also wearing sunglasses and blue cap.
The second suspect is described as being of Asian appearance, around 28 to 30-years-old, between 5’8” and 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt which had circles patterns on it near to the neckline. He had black short spiky hair and was wearing sunglasses.
Detective Constable Anna Siveter, who is investigating the incident, he said: "Although the victim was not hurt during the incident, she has been left extremely shocked and distressed by it. I would urge anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously in the area at around this time last Friday to contact us. Any information no matter how insignificant it may seem could help with our enquiries."
