Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Ibstock.

The collision occurred at around 8.50pm yesterday (Tuesday July 7, 2009) on Leicester Road approximately 70 metres east of its junction with Richmond Road and involved two vehicles, a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a blue Rover 75.

The driver and front seat passenger in the Corsa, both believed to be men in their late teens, received fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The rear seat passenger in the Corsa received serious injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where her condition is described as serious.

The driver of the Rover received minor injuries but did not attend hospital.

Detective Constable Gary Mundy, from the Force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have seen either car before the collision occurred to get in touch with me.”
