Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of burglary at a premises on Market Street in the city centre.

The incident happened between 6.40pm on Saturday June 20 and 7.45am on Sunday June 21, when it was found that the door to the premises, Café Nero, had been forced open.

During the incident the sign from inside the premises was taken. It was later recovered from the corner of Wellington Street and Belvoir Street

PC Natalie Dean, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We are appealing to the public in the hope that anyone who saw the incident will contact us and help us with our enquiries.

“We have information that has lead us to believe that the premises was broken into at around 4.10am on Sunday June 21 and so we want anyone who was in the area at this time in particular, to contact us if they saw anything suspicious.”
