Theft of gate from Burton on the Wolds
Police are appealing for witnesses after a gate was taken from a property in Burton on the Wolds.
The incident happened between 12.30pm and 4pm on Wednesday July 8, when the victim found that the steel gate, at the end of the driveway to the property on Barrow Road, had gone.
The gate was 16ft wide and 5’6” high.
PC Richard Spivey, the officer investigating the theft, said: “Because of the size we believe that it is possible that there was more that one person involved in this incident and that a vehicle was used to take the gate away.
“If you was in the area at the time of the incident and can remember seeing anything suspicious then we want to here form you.
“Alternatively if you are aware of someone who has acquired a gate similar to that described, in suspicious circumstances, then we want you to call us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 1384 Richard Spivey on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1384. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
