Car set on fire in Hand Avenue

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car parked outside an address on Hand Avenue in Leicester was set on fire.

The incident happened at about 6.40pm on Saturday July 4, 2009 when a black Renault Megane was set alight.

The fire service attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

The car sustained extensive damage.

Nobody was injured.

PC Dan Fawcett, who is investigating the incident, said: "The fire has caused the victim great inconvenience. I would urge anybody who has any information about the incident to contact police.

"We're appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anybody acting suspiciously in the Hand Avenue area around the time of the incident, to please get in touch."
