Police are appealing for witnesses after a theft from a vehicle in Sileby.

The incident happened between 3.55pm and 4pm on Monday July 6, 2009 when the driver of a white Ford Transit pick up truck was sat in his vehicle on Mountsorrel Lane.

A white Ford Transit van pulled up beside him and the passenger leaned out the window and stole a Stihl petrol saw and a handheld breaker which were on the back of the victims truck.

The two men in the van have been described as between 25 and 30-years-old with dark hair. The van possibly had a part registration number of V846.

PC Richard Spivey, who is investigating the incident, said: We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information regarding the people responsible.

"Do you know someone who has recently acquired items like these in suspicious circumstances? If so please get in touch."
