Police have arrested one man and one woman in connection with a road traffic collision in Shepshed.

The incident happened at around 9.45pm on Saturday July 11, when there was a collision between a HGV and a silver Vectra.

The two occupants of the Vectra left the scene and ran up the embankment of the motorway.

Police dog, Bodie, and dog handler PC Sarah Maynard, found the two hiding at the top of the embankment.

The man, aged 29-years-old, was arrested and reported for summons. The woman, 32-years-old, was arrested and released, no further action.
