Car set on fire in Burbage
Police in Hinckley are appealing for witnesses after a car was set on fire in Denis Road in Burbage.
The incident happened at around 10pm on Saturday July 4, when the owner of the car was inside her house with the car parked on her drive.
She heard a loud bang and when the she looked out of her window she found the boot and roof of her car were on fire.
The fire quickly spread through the car and onto the garage and windows of the property.
The fire service attended and extinguished the fire.
PC Mike Francis- Lang, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The victim has been left angry and upset after the fire, which has completely destroyed the vehicle and also caused damage to the front of her property.
“The victim was alerted to the fire by a loud bang and so it is likely that other people in the area also heard this and possibly saw someone leaving the scene.
“We would like anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact us. Any information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital, so please get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 551 Mike Francis- Lang on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer and when prompted key in his identification number 0551. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers free* and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
