Six men arrested in connection with fight in Loughborough

Six men arrested in connection with fight in Loughborough
Detectives have arrested a further six men in connection with a fight in Loughborough Town Centre.
The incident happened at around 3.40pm on Tuesday July 14, 2009 when a fight broke out involving a group of youths on Granby Street at its junction with Packe Street.
A 19-year-old man received serous head injuries during the incident and was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where his condition is described as critical.
Two youths aged 15 were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released without charge.
A further six men, three aged 17, one aged 18 and two aged 19, have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Chris Hewgill, from Loughborough CID, said: “We believe there were a number of people in the are at the time who have still not come forward to speak to us. We would urge them to do so as the information they have could prove vital to our enquiry.
“If people are worried about contacting us directly, they can contact anonymous charity Crimestoppers.
“We are still keen to speak to any motorists had to drive around the people involved in the fight as it spilled onto the road and we also understand that several people were overheard talking about the fight in a nearby café shortly after the incident.
“We also understand that several people were heard talking about the fight in a nearby café shortly afterwards. If you overheard this conversation please come forward and speak to us.
